How to Use the SWIFT Code Finder
Finding the correct SWIFT/BIC code for an international wire transfer shouldn't be a guessing game. Our interactive finder tool is designed to help you pinpoint the exact bank code you need in four simple, guided steps:
- Select the Destination Country: Choose the country where the recipient's bank is physically located.
- Choose the Bank: Once the country is selected, our system will load a list of all registered financial institutions in that region.
- Pick the City: Select the city where the bank branch is situated.
- Get Your Code: Click on the generated SWIFT code to instantly navigate to the detailed information page, where you can verify the bank's address and branch details before initiating your transfer.
Why is Accuracy Important?
A single mistyped character in a SWIFT code can lead to your international wire transfer being delayed by weeks, subjected to heavy return fees, or routed to an entirely different institution. Using our finder ensures that you are copying a validated, active BIC code directly from our global banking database.
Can't Find Your Specific Branch?
Don't worry. In the international banking system, many smaller local branches do not operate with their own unique 11-digit SWIFT code. If you cannot find the specific branch you are looking for, you should select the 8-digit head office code of the bank (usually ending in "XXX" or having no suffix). The central clearing system of the destination bank will automatically route your funds to the correct local branch based on the domestic account number you provide.
